When people work together there are ought to be differences in their vision, opinion and creativity. The case similar to what has been happening in the historical film Manikarnika- The Queen Of Jhansi, starring Kangana Ranaut and Sonu Sood. When the director of the film couldn’t make it for shoot, Kangana stepped in to help and take over the director’s hat for Krish Jagarlamudi, just so that they could finish the film in time to keep up with the release date. But actor, Sonu wasn’t available owing to his commitment towards Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. Sonu had already gown a stubble for his role in Rohit’s film and Manikarnika required him to be clean shaven. Hence the differences cropped up between Sonu and Kangana.
However, Sonu’s unavailability for Manikarnika didn’t go down too well with Queen actress and as per a popular website, Sonu was uncomfortable working under a woman director, hence wasn’t giving the dates which led to his exit from the film.
When Sonu heard all this his reaction was “The gender of the director is not the issue. Competence is. Let’s not confuse the two. I’ve worked with Farah Khan [For Happy New Year] who’s a competent woman director and Farah and I had a great professional equation and we are still best of friends. That’s all I would like to say.”
