Review: Kajol’s Film Helicopter Eela Is About Mom-Son Relationship/Friendship

Yesterday was a very special occasion, it was Friendships day, Bollywood actress Kajol’s birthday and the promo launch of Kajol’s upcoming film Helicopter Eela. The film that is directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Ajay Devgan.

Beginning of the promo sees, Kajol performing on a stage; cut to we are introduced to Kajol a single and over-enthusiastic mother called Eela who misconstrues her son Vivan’s words and joins his college. Vivan’s character is played by Riddhi Sen. The intent behind joining son’s college is Eela’s need to spend more time with her son. However, after Eela joins her son’s college, all the confusion among students regarding Eela, leads to Eela clarifying that she is a student, not a teacher. Eela’s nagging presence in Vivan’s life and college leads to tonnes of drama. This drama is sure to bring out lot of emotions in audience when the film hits the theatres.

Helicopter Eela’s plot addresses the issue of space that many youngsters have with their parents in real life too, but they somehow manage to put up with it. However, here in the film, eventually an angry Vivan storms out of the house, because hey! His mother is a next bencher with him.

The trailer gives a comic relief at some places and Kajol’s acting keeps one hooked till the end of the promo. The promo makes you crack-up as well as frown, hence it is clear that this film falls into the dramedy genre.
