Refugee Director, JP Dutta On Why Abhishek Bachchan Abandoned His ‘Paltan’

Filmmaker JP Dutta’s India-Pakistan border based film Refugee was the launch vehicle of  Abhishek Bachchan as well as Kareena Kapoor. Both the actors left a mark in the industry with this film.

Just recently when JP Dutta approached Abhishek for his upcoming film, called Paltan, a joyous Abhi agreed to come on board. And news started floating around of the director-actor duo to give another hit. However, things did not fall through that the junior Bachchan had to quit the film just a day before the shoot was about to commence.

In a statement, JP Dutta’s daughter, Nidhi Dutta released a statement saying Abhishek Bachchan is no longer part of Paltan for personal reasons best known to him. It has come as shock to us as this happened less than 24 hours before our unit left to shoot in Ladhakh. We will announce the actor who is replacing Abhishek in the film soon.”

Buzz is, Harshvardhan Rane has been roped in to play Abhishek’s character in the film.

Paltan will hit the theatres on September 7, 2018. Also the trailer of the film is already out today. The films crew was present at the trailer launch, when JP Dutta was quizzed as to what was the reason for Abhishek’s exit from the film. Dutta replied, “Please talk to the Bachchans as I don’t know what exactly happened and what went wrong.”
There was strong buzz that, the Bachchans weren’t happy with the screen time allotted to Abhishek in the film. And if you take a closer look at JP Dutta’s statement also says that only the “Bachchans” can tell us why Abhishek left the film.
However, this is just a speculation.
