Our first review on Style Bustle and we are super elated about it! The joy doubles up as we pen down our opinion on the latest Bollywood release, Dhadak.
Like the name is, Dhadak is very close to our hearts, because it stars the daughter of our favourite, none other than, late Miss Sridevi.
As per the industry insiders, this Karan Johar produced film has opened to nearly Rs 3.5 cr. May sound less for a KJO film but mind you, it sure means a grand figure for newcomers. Kudos to Janhvi and Ishaan Khatter!
Talking about the USP of the film, Janhvi. We are compelled to say, like mother like daughter. Just like her mom, Janhvi is a natural and has supreme screen presence. She is a graceful dancer too!
Male protagonist Ishaan proves his talent. He makes a promise of a long run in Bollywood!
Dhadak’s story is not fresh. And it is not shocking because the film is an adaptation of the Marathi film Sairat. While few emotional scenes are not as impactful as expected, film’s first half is extremely entertaining and the climax leaves you shocked to the wits. Credits to director Shashank Vyas.
Much appreciation for the super-hit songs and simple yet vibrant costumes. And special mention to the cinematographer Vishnu Rao for capturing the picturesque locales of the beautiful Rajasthan.
This film sure has an amazing youth appeal, which goes to say that Dhadak will see many morning shows across the coming weeks in Indian cities, as youngsters may want to miss their classes to watch these two budding entertainers.
That was our take on the film! Do let us know yours….
