Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan, who are all set to be seen in Sui Dhaaga: Made In India, have a distinct way to wish the Indian country men and women happiness on this Independence Day.
Actor, Varun shared a small video on his social media page unraveling the unique art of embroidery across India and how Indian artisans across the nation used their native art of needle and thread to make this national flag.
In the video actors describe how a team of artisans sourced from different parts of the country, made this national flag using India’s exclusive forms of thread work.
The first saffron band is made from Chikankari form of embroidery, an art belonging to the city of Lucknow, white in the centre is made using Phulkari form of embroidery; belonging to the Punjab region of India, lastly green band is made with Kashida style of embroidery from Kashmir.
Along with the video Varun also shared a small but heart felt message stating, ” Wishing you all a very happy Independence Day. Will always value this day and never forget the sacrifices of our freedom fighters.”
